projects Overview
I like to involve myself in projects that help to grow my capabilities in fine art and illustration.
30-Days of watercolor challenge
Every so often I like to challenge myself to a specific project. This time, I'm holding myself accountable for the entire month of September 2016, to create one watercolor work per day. I want to focus on really pulling my watercolor skills together by trying out different watercolor techniques. The subject of the painting won't matter. Scary! I'm not that comfortable with this medium because it can be difficult to control and it's hard to undo mistakes.
Check out Jake Parker's YouTube video on why we should do 30 days challenges. Thanks Jake!
I will post my watercolor works in a new "2016 30 Days of Watercolor Challenge" in September.
inktober
Started by the amazing artist Jake Parker, InkTober occurs every October. Artists across the globe hold themselves (and each other) accountable to complete at least one ink drawing per day for the entire month - 31 drawings!
I will post my drawings in a new "2016 InkTober" gallery in October.
ska-da-mo
SkADaMo (Sketch a day month) was started by artist Linda Silvestri as a personal challenge. Each year she kicks off this challenge through social media and her "Sketched Out" blog. SkADaMo has grown into an international challenge in which thousands of artists participate each November. There wasn't an official SkADaMo challenge in 2015, but that didn't stop artists from completing this challenge for their own personal edification. We shall see for 2016.
I will post my drawings in a new "2016 SkADaMo" gallery in November.
