Kim A Richards

Kim A. Richards is a mom of three, who grew up in Marshall, Virginia, where she experienced the scenic landscape of “horse country” filled with rolling hills, Blue Ridge Mountain views, farm lands, farm houses, orchards, and vineyards. It is easy to see where much of the inspiration for her art originates. Recently, Kim’s work has gravitated towards nearly exclusive dedication to creating and sharing Biblically inspired, allegorical works created in oils and acrylics.

Each one should use whatever gift he [or she] has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
— Holy Bible (NIV), 1 Peter 4:10

As a self-taught artist, Kim spends much of her time studying and practicing techniques used by the old masters, contemporary artists, and other inspiring artists (e.g., John Singer Sargent, Gustav Klimt, Anders Zorn, and Joaquin Sorolla) in order to achieve the desired outcomes in her paintings. Kim currently lives in Fredericksburg, VA and enjoys gardening, observing nature, taking walks, attending symphonys, being a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, in Rectortown, VA and singing in the church’s ensemble.
