into the light
“Into the Light” is an allegorical painting inspired by the Biblical scripture found in Ephesians 5:8 – “For at one time you were in darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” This scripture contrasts our past lives (darkness), with our new/present lives in God (light).
1 Thessalonians 5:5 also describes Christians as “You are all children of the light and children of day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.”
As children of light, we are to live “awake” and alert to obey the Lord, walking in his light, walking in his promises, and being a representative or beacon of light to help draw others to God and into a closer relationship with him.
In this painting, she is doing this; walking into a new life of light.
